Supporting Our Local Communities
Supporting our local community is a core part of Atman Eco Cabanes. We hire local residents from Lanaudiere, work with local craftspeople, and source materials from regional or sustainable suppliers. The majority of our interior elements are handcrafted by a local woodworker, and much of the interior wood used throughout our cabins comes from a local Mandeville supplier.
We also believe that strong communities are built through collaboration. By developing long-term partnerships with local businesses and organizations, we help support the regional economy while creating meaningful experiences that celebrate the people, craftsmanship, and natural beauty of our region.
Responsible
Suppliers & Partners
We believe responsible building is possible. That's why approximately 95% of our building materials are sourced from Québec or environmentally responsible suppliers.
While not every material can currently be sourced this way, we always choose the most sustainable option available. Supporting responsible suppliers may cost more, but protecting our forests and reducing our environmental impact is a commitment we're proud to make.
Eco-Friendly
Water Systems
At Ātman, we have carefully selected water systems that help reduce our environmental footprint while protecting local natural resources. Our showers use Orbital Shower technology, an advanced water recycling system that continuously purifies and recirculates water during use, reducing water consumption by up to 90% and energy use by up to 80%.
Wastewater is then treated through the System O)) Advanced Enviro-Septic system, which relies on natural biological processes rather than electricity or mechanical equipment. Together, these systems help conserve freshwater, protect local groundwater, and support a more responsible approach to water management.
Natural Heritage
Perservation
Preservation of the natural heritage of Ātman is an important part of our vision. From the forests, ponds, and wetlands to the native plants and wildlife that call this land home, we are committed to protecting and caring for the landscape so it can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Today, Ātman Eco Cabanes uses only approximately 2% of the land for its accommodations, while the remaining 98% is preserved and carefully stewarded. Caring for the surrounding forest is an ongoing process that continues throughout the year and is a personal commitment of the owners. Through responsible land management, we strive to help reduce wildfire risk, limit the spread of invasive species, and support the long-term health of the ecosystem.

To Causes
Contributing to meaningful causes is something we are working towards at Ātman. Our goal is to support initiatives that protect nature and wildlife, create opportunities for youth, and contribute to organizations that support Indigenous communities and their enduring connection to the land.
