Welcome to Phase One of the Ātman Website

There is something deeply rewarding about watching an idea slowly transform into something real.

Almost a 4 years ago, we began creating what would eventually become Ātman Eco Cabanes. At the time, it wasn't just about building cabins in the forest or a wellness retreat in Quebec. We wanted to create a place that reflected our values, our appreciation for nature, and the way we believe people deserve to experience it while reconnecting with themselves & mother nature.

Today, we're incredibly excited to share a milestone we've been looking forward to for months: the official launch of our website.

While a website may seem like a small step, to us it represents countless hours of thought, creativity, revisions, and care. Before a single page was designed, we spent months asking ourselves one simple question:

"If we could create the perfect forest retreat, what would it truly feel like?"

That question guided every decision we made.

The branding became the heart of the project and, by far, the longest part of the journey. Every colour, every font, every photograph, every illustration, and every word was carefully chosen to reflect the peaceful, grounded experience we hope our guests will feel the moment they arrive. We weren't interested in following trends or creating something that simply looked beautiful. We wanted to create an identity that felt timeless, genuine, and deeply connected to the forest around us.

Behind every design choice was a story. Behind every page was another late evening discussing ideas, refining details, and making sure everything stayed true to our vision. We often found ourselves starting over, not because something wasn't good enough, but because we knew it could better represent what Ātman stands for.

Travel has always been one of our greatest sources of inspiration. Over the years, we've had the opportunity to stay in beautiful places around the world, but one thing continued to stand out. Too often, remarkable natural settings were overshadowed by buildings that felt disconnected from their surroundings. Many hotels offered comfort, yet lacked a genuine sense of place, making the experience feel no different than staying in any city.

Those experiences challenged us to ask a different question: What if the place you stayed became part of the landscape instead of competing with it?

That idea became the foundation of Ātman. Rather than designing cabins that simply overlook the forest, we wanted every detail to feel as though it belonged there. Inspired by our travels, Japanese simplicity, Scandinavian craftsmanship, and the quiet beauty of the Canadian wilderness, we carefully shaped every element to create an experience that feels warm, calming, and deeply connected to nature.

Our hope is that guests leave with more than memories of a beautiful cabin. We hope they leave feeling rested, inspired, and reminded of how powerful it can be to slow down, reconnect with nature, and appreciate the simple moments that are often forgotten in everyday life.

Although there is still work ahead, launching our website feels like entering the final chapter before welcoming our very first guests. Construction continues to move forward, new experiences are taking shape, and the vision we've spent nearly a year developing is finally beginning to come to life.

This is only the beginning.

As Ātman continues to grow, our vision extends far beyond offering a place to stay. We are creating a forest hotel in Quebec that brings together nature, thoughtful design, and meaningful experiences.
